Angelina Jolie Stars in ‘A Mighty Heart’ as Mariane Pearl which opens on June 22, 2007. The movie is based on the book of the same title by author Mariane Pearl, whose husband, Danny Pearl, was abducted and murdered by Islamic extremists linked to Al-Qaeda in 2002. He was reporting for The Wall Street Journal in Pakistan at the time of his abduction. Mariane, who was pregnant at the time, was left to manage the search efforts for her missing husband. Angelina Jolie said playing the role of Mariane was her way of honoring Danny Pearl’s memory.

Angelina Jolie, who has one biological child and three adopted children with actor Brad Pitt, says Mariane is one of the most courageous people she’s ever met. When so much ugliness and hate came into her life and attacked her family while she was pregnant with her baby and murdered the father of her child. Angelina played real life roles before but never got to know the people she portrayed as she did with Mariane and their son.

It’s interesting with Angelina being in a movie that respects journalists for bravery, given the other side with the paparazzi world that surrounds her. In the movie Jolie’s character is surrounded by paparazzi and it’s hard not to notice that Jolie herself has experienced this and must know how to play the part. Angelina said is was under completely different circumstances, she doesn’t know what it’s like to have lost her husband and have somebody do that to her. It’s very different especially for somebody already dealing with a terrible situation.

Celebrity News and Gossip always seem to follow Angelina Jolie as much as the paparazzi do. Jolie is rumored to be starring as a stripper turned action star in ‘Confessions of an Action Star,’ while also having confirmed roles in other movies. She is doing the voices for two animated movies, Beowulf, that will be released this fall and Kung Fu Panda, slated to be in released next summer. Jolie currently is in The Czech Republic filming ‘Wanted,’ and as gossip has it, her and Brad Pitt plan to adopt another child from an orphanage in Prague.
